The number of high school students taking technical courses is the top among the Tohoku/Northern Kanto regions. In addition, schools and facilities at different places in the prefecture are providing education for the future and developing human resources who are ready to work. (5) National Institute of Technology, Fukushima College (Iwaki City)

Providing human resources special training program for the revitalization regarding renewable energy, nuclear safety, disaster prevention/risk reduction. Developing human resources collaborating with the Japan Atomic Energy Agency (JAEA).

(6) Futaba Future HS (Hirono Town)
(capacity 160 students)

Opened in April 2015. Designated as a Super Global High School (SGH) of MEXT. Developing global leaders to support the revitalization from the nuclear disaster.

(7) ODAKA Industrial Technology and Commerce HS (Minamisoma City)

Opened the Industry Innovation Course to study about renewable energy and robotics. In 2017, the ICT course, Economy and Finance course newly opened to develop a variety of human resources.

The prefecture has established "Furusato Fukushima Employment Information Center" in Fukushima City and the Tokyo metro area, "Fukushima Living/Employment Support Center" at 6 locations in Fukushima Prefecture, to support businesses securing human resources by matching businesses with job-seekers in Fukushima.

Student loan repayment support initiatives for securing industrial human resources who help bring in the future of Fukushima

This initiative supports the repayment of student loans for those who are employed in relevant industries specified by the prefectural government (manufacturing, telecommunications, etc.) and who live and work for a business located within the prefecture for a specified period of time.

※1 Amount equivalent to a loan for two years until graduation or completion (24 months) of the specified student loan granted.
※2 Amount equivalent to 1/2 of the remaining repayment amount at the time of application of the specified student loan granted during tertiary education.

Subsidy to assist moving in Fukushima

A program in which the national government, Fukushima Prefecture, and prefectural municipalities jointly pay out financial support for relocation to persons who have lived or commuted to work for at least 5 years in total within the 23 wards of Tokyo in the 10 years immediately preceding relocating to a municipality in Fukushima Prefecture, and have found employment at a company, etc. eligible to post job vacancy information on the F Turn website.

Fukushima employment guidance

In-person group and online job fairs are held for students in the metropolitan area and in the prefecture to encourage employment of graduates from universities, etc. within the prefecture in local companies, and U/I/J-turn employment of graduates from universities outside the prefecture.
