Creating new industries based on the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework

Traffic system has been improved with the key port of Soma Port as well as the Joban Expressway, Tohoku-Chuo expressway (partly opened) and Joban Line (the entire line will open soon).
The area is blessed with a warm and mild climate, and provides easy access to the Northern District of the prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture. The area is advancing creation of new industries with national projects such as Fukushima Robot Test Field and the Fukushima Hydrogen Energy Research Field.

With a large number of companies of transport equipment related industry and chemical engineering related companies located, industry clusters are advancing in the area. The Joban Expressway and Onahama Port, one of the key ports, enables efficient transportation domestically and internationally.
