　It has been 11 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake. Fukushima Prefecture is making steady progress toward reconstruction thanks to generous support from home and abroad, and the efforts of our prefecture’s residents.

　Our prefecture serves as the gateway to the Tohoku region, as its location in the southernmost part of Tohoku puts it a short distance from the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Fukushima, the third largest prefecture in the country, is divided into three regions, the “Aizu Region,” “Central Region,” and “Coastal Region,” each with its own unique climate and industrial makeup.
　Each region is populated by residents characterized by diligence and tenaciousness. I am confident these incredible men and women who epitomize the tremendous resilience that has enabled us to prevail over the Great Earthquake will be a dynamic force that rises to the challenges companies face.

　We will achieve reconstruction we are proud to show the world. With this end goal in mind, we are continuing to rise up to various challenges. Through collaboration among industry, academia, and government, we are doing our best to promote industries and create jobs by fostering and concentrating new industries such as renewable and hydrogen energy, and medical, robotics, and aerospace industries. These endeavors include developing core facilities unlike any other in Japan.
　Furthermore, we robustly support businesses by offering an extremely generous support system among the best in the country that includes subsidies for establishing new business facilities, tax incentives through Special Reconstruction Zones, and aid for practical development and other projects based on the Fukushima Innovation Coast Framework.

　While adapting to changes in the socio-economic environment brought on by the effects of COVID-19, we are working hand in hand with companies that care about Fukushima and resolutely continuing our efforts to achieve reconstruction we are proud to show the world.
