Fukushima effectively supports the establishment of businesses with some of the best incentive systems available nationwide. These include subsidies to partially cover the initial investment required for the establishment of businesses; tax benefits allowed under the Act on pecial Measures for the Reconstruction and Revitalization of Fukushima and the Act on Special Zones for Reconstruction in Response to the Great East Japan Earthquake; other independent support programs from various municipalities; and inexpensive loans for plant site from the Fukushima revitalization acceleration subsidy program.

Fukushima Prefecture Transport Equipment Related Industry Cooperative Association

In collaboration with the Tohoku Automotive Industry Concentration Cooperative Association, Transport Equipment-Related Industry Association is working to build up an industrial cluster through a variety of activites such as exhibiting displays at technical expositions and conventions in the Tokyo and Nagoya areas, holding seminars, and creating guidebooks that introduce the operational contents and products of member companies.

The Fukushima Semiconductor Industry Association is promoting new business through forging close ties between businesses inside and outside Fukushima; developing new products and technologies through collaboration among industry, academia, and government; developing human resources; and is engaged in initiatives to increase public awareness of manufacturing.
Furthermore, industry, academia, and government in Tohoku is coordinating on activities to implement the Tohoku regional cluster creation strategy - "Tohoku Monozukuri (manufacturing) Corridor" project.

Fukushima Technology Centre(Koriyama City)As a public testing and research institution, Fukushima Technology Centre has a rich array of all types of testing devices and equipment that support private sector R&D in the prefecture. In addition to being open to corporations, the Technology Centre is actively tackling joint research with corporations, the development of new technology and products, and the technology transfer of each type of research outcomes.

The Centre also collaborates with research technical support centers in Fukushima, Iwaki and Aizuwakamatsu, functioning as a center of exchange between industry, academia and government.
