A developing industrial infrastructure Favorable access to neighboring prefectures

This region is seeing improved industrial infrastructure, supported by the important Soma Port, as well as the extension of the Joban Expressway in the development of water supplies for industry.
This area is blessed with a mild climate, and easy access from the northern region of the prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture.

A focus of transportation and chemical industries

As well as transportation industries, there are increasing numbers of chemical industries located within this region. Joban Expressway, important ports, and Onahama Port provide efficient logistics throughout Japan and to overseas.
